On Wednesday, January 8, The Samara Centre for Democracy along with the Government of Canada’s Open Government Team co-hosted a discussion about advancing open government in Canada. The event took place at the Samara Centre’s office in downtown Toronto and was facilitated by Samara Centre Research Director, Beatrice Wayne. The workshop brought together diverse civil society members and community stakeholders with the aim of reviewing and providing input on draft open government commitments in key areas such as enhancing meaningful and inclusive public participation and protecting civic space and democracy. Feedback from the discussion will help shape Canada’s next National Action Plan on Open Government.
